The Rights of Spring

String Cheese Incident
String Cheese Incident

With cold weather quickly becoming a thing of the past, the bluebonnets and hippies are in full bloom and it's time to exercise your inalienable right to go to outdoor concerts damn near every weekend till the chill starts edging back in next fall. This means you have no excuse to stay inside all day (barring a bad rosacea breakout), especially since here's a handy clip-n-save list of this weekend's festivities:

Waterloo Park, Thursday-Saturday: String Cheese Incident with Tenacious D (Thursday), Weary Boys (Friday), Jackie Pepper (Saturday). Sold Out.

Seventh Street between Trinity & Neches, Saturday: Block Party featuring Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick, plus vendors, food, and drinks. 2pm-midnight.

Waterloo Park, Sunday: KLBJ Presents the Rites of Spring w/ Dishwalla, Custom, Pushmonkey, Riddlin' Kids, Eddie Gossling, Dynamite Boy, and Damesviolet. 12:30pm gate.

The Backyard's 10th Year Celebration, Saturday-Sunday: Willie Nelson with Los Lonely Boys -- season opener and unveiling of the venue's renovation/expansion.
