Just Touching Base ...

with classic Austin tastes: old favorites, new reviews

Reviewing the same restaurants every year would severely limit the Chronicle's overall restaurant coverage and wouldn't be particularly interesting to our critics, or the reading public, for that matter. However, from time to time we feel the need to update our information about certain restaurants, to take a fresh look at a high-profile eatery that has a new chef, check on the newer outlet of an established neighborhood stalwart, or sample new items on the menus at some all-time favorites. Recently, Food writers Barbara Chisholm, Rachel Feit, and I invested some time in updating our information on Emilia's, Mars, Curra's North, and the Country Line on the Hill, and here is what we discovered.
