Unwanted and Unneeded

I asked folks in their 20s, 30s, and 40s what they were told by those getting petition signatures for rideshare. They were told that rideshare co.'s were being forced to leave ["Uber, Lyft Form PAC, Push Petition," News, Jan. 1].
The premise that the city of Austin is forcing a private company out of the city is not true. Packaging your message in this way for the purpose of this petition makes you and your supporters unwanted and unneeded in a city that respects businesses who have positive relationships with the city of Austin and its citizens, many of whom do not use rideshare services.
If drivers are relying on unreported tips to pay the rent, then our increasingly high-cost city is not for you.
