False Assertions

RECEIVED Fri., Sept. 4, 2015

Dear Editor,
[Regarding “Adios, Jeff!” News, Sept. 4]: “For the record, the Southern Poverty Law Center describes Lyons as 'a white supremacist.' When asked by the Chronicle if that was true, Lyons didn't deny it, but instead claimed that the SPLC was the real 'hate group.'"
I always deny false assertions from the perjury suborner in chief Morris Dees. I did deny the assertion of "white supremacy" – whatever that means today. I said at the mall that "it is disgusting that it takes a 'so-called white supremacist' attorney like me to school a UT president and students on art desecration and civic decency." The SPLC is a hate group – if such a term can be honestly used today.
But that kind of name-calling doesn't really work anymore except for left-leaning people. Apparently anyone who defends the Davis/Wilson statues are "racists(TM)" or "white supremacists(TM)" – so even if your snarky canard is even close to accurate, I have a lot of good company these days.
This fight will go on. When you're ready to write a straight news story give me a call – otherwise don't.
Kirk D. Lyons
