Dear Editor,
Watch out Toronto, we have Council Member Don Zimmerman [“
Election Follies,” News, Feb. 13]! Why is it that the most outspoken opponents are typically the very people who use or abuse what they are trying to shut down? (Example: gay Republicans passing DOMA.) Case in point: Don Zimmerman. Even before Zimmerman gets the Ten Commandments as a testament of his radical right-leaning libertarian anti-everything government position, he is already embroiled in a campaign finance legal dispute for paying his wife for campaigning for him and then trying to split hairs on a longstanding statute forbidding such behavior. Now, one of his first acts in office is to oppose assistance in the form of low-income housing tax credits. I have an idea, Don, how about you subsidize the low-income individuals who need assistance the same way you subsidized your family?
