Justice, Not Violence

RECEIVED Wed., April 25, 2012

Dear Editor,
I want to beg you to keep Michael Paxton's campaign “Justice for Cisco” in the spotlight, with regular updates about the mission and progress of the movement [“Cisco, R.I.P.,” News, April 20].
There are people using Cisco's death to call for violence against the police, [Cisco's owner] Mr. Paxton is not one of them. Mr. Paxton and those who help to administrate the Justice for Cisco Facebook community quickly remove comments that call for any form of retaliation against the police in general or Officer Griffin specifically.
I believe that Mr. Paxton's choice to seek policy change in his beloved companion's name is news. I would be so pleased to have my local paper covering the story from tragedy to triumph.
