  • Free Shakespeare: Romeo & Juliet

    Austin Shakespeare, in conjunction with the University of Texas at Austin, presents Shakespeare’s classic love story, Romeo and Juliet. This legendary love story will be told in a new way! Set in the 1930’s with inspiration from the period crime drama Peaky Blinders, this production will also include music (both live and recorded) from the mid 20th century as well as the 1930s. Tickets are free when you RSVP in advance.

    This new play by debbie tucker green is the inaugural production for Horizon Line Theatre. Directed by Chuck Ney, it's a provocative and darkly humorous show that focuses on the aftermath of one woman’s violent attack and how it has destroyed her life and her family, and it stars Nadine Mozon, Barbara Chisholm, and (yes, Chronicle Arts Editor) Robert Faires.
    Through Oct. 19. Thu.-Sat., 8pm; Sun., 5pm. Extra show: Wed., Oct. 16, 8pm. $20-25.
