Compared to the bulletins put out by SXSW's Interactive, Music, & Film arms – news blasts so frequent they leave us fairly reeling – SXSW Comedy has only just made its first lineup announcement of the 2013 calendar year. Don't worry: There's plenty there worth having waited for.

SXSWedu has announced its lineup of eight documentaries to screen during the 2013 conference and festival. And in case you think that they're just wheeling out an old 8mm projector for some drivers' ed reels, they have major documentaries like Bully and Brooklyn Castle, and Q&As with the directors and cast.

Cross one big name off the SXSW bucket list: Bill Gates will serve as the keynote speaker for SXSWedu 2013.

As season 2 of Bob’s Burgers was premiering on Fox last Sunday, several cast members – Eugene Mirman (Gene), Dan Mintz (Tina), Kristen Schaal (Louise), Larry Murphy (Teddy), and Kurt Braunohler – took the stage for the first of back to back SXComedy shows. It wasn’t a panel. Because as Mirman asked the audience, “Who would want to hear that?”

Chances are that when Ryan Schierling and Julie Munroe cooked up a batch of chilaquiles with a nontraditional carbohydrate in their Seattle apartment a couple of years back, they would never have envisioned it being served from a food truck at all hours during SXSW.
