Big News for Toros Fans

Entire 2010-11 home season to be played at Cedar Park Center

Big News for Toros Fans

It was announced today that the Austin Toros will play their entire 2010-2011, 24-game home schedule at the Cedar Park Center, best known as the home of the Texas Stars. This ends the Toros' five-year run at the Austin Convention Center.

“We are really looking forward to continuing to present NBA caliber competition to Austin Toros fans at the new Cedar Park Center,” said Rick Pych, the sports and entertainment president of business operations for the Spurs. “The move will allow us to improve the fan experience beyond what we have been able to offer in past years. We are excited about the future, but also grateful to the City of Austin and staff at the Austin Convention Center for the great partnership over the last five years that allowed us to bring the NBA Development League to the greater Austin community.”

The CPC will seat 4,672 for basketball and of course has plenty of (paid) parking on site. This is not the greatest news for the fans who will have a longer drive to catch a game now, but that area has proven they can support a sports franchise (see the Texas Stars first season) and the amenities of the new multi-use Cedar Park Center will enhance the experience for fans both old and new.

Tickets will start at $5 and fans can take advantage of special discount offers already available on their website. The season tips off in November.
