Banks Named to AAA All-Star Team
Express pitcher replaces teammate Brian Bogusevic

Round Rock Express' starting pitcher Josh Banks was recently added to the Pacific Coast League roster for the AAA All-Star Game, replacing former Express representative Brian Bogusevic who will undergo a minor medical procedure during the break.
While it would seem Banks is merely getting in because another player dropped out, the truth is he should have been on the team when the All-Star rosters were announced on June 30. Although he does have an 8-6 record, his 2.96 ERA and 15 quality starts in 17 games suggest his mediocre record isn't necessarily his fault.
He's been a workhorse for the team, pitching 105 innings this season, which is good for second-most in the PCL. As for WHIP, my favorite statistic for minor-league pitchers when projecting future success in the majors, he's second as well allowing 1.15 walks and hits per inning pitched.
Just like technically proficient Adam Banks – not flashy Captain Charlie Conway – was the best player on the Mighty Ducks, consistent and impressive Josh Banks could very well be the best player on the Express' roster, despite not being one of the flashy hitters that continue to receive all the buzz. (Yes, I managed to make a Mighty Ducks reference when talking about baseball I'm way too proud of this achievement. I might even start a "Quack, Quack" chant next time he's on the mound.)
Banks just came off another quality start performance Friday night, going 6 2/3 innings while giving up three runs and earned a no-decision. You can see him pitch live after the All-Star break, or tune in to the MLB Network on Wednesday, July 14, when the AAA All-Star Game will be played in Allentown, Pa. First pitch is scheduled for 6:07pm CDT.
Vs. Oklahoma City: Thu.-Sun., July 8-11, 7:05pm. Dell Diamond, 3400 E. Palm Valley Blvd., Round Rock. $6-30.
