UT Softball Hosts Texas Classic This Weekend

UT softball got their post-Cat Osterman era started on the right foot racking up four wins in five games on the road. Junior righthander Meagan Denny replaces Osterman as the squad's ace and is sporting a 2-0 record with one complete game shutout in four appearances. She has an impressive 0.84 ERA, 22 Ks in 16.2 innings pitched with the opponents hitting a mere .169 against her. Freshman righthander Erin Tresselt has been solid out of the 'pen. She's sporting an also-impressive 0.93 ERA with a 1-1 record and 11 strikeouts in three outings (15 innings pitched). The Lady Longhorns D appears to be an issue this season with 10 out of their 17 runs being of the unearned variety. Not to worry though, there's still plenty of time to settle down and get in a groove.
As far as the bats go, senior catcher Megan Willis leads the team with a .400 batting average and .500 on-base percentage; freshman Loryn Johnson has the most RBIs with eight and runs scored with four; and sophomore Kacie Gaskin leads the ladies in slugging (.647), total bases (11), and homers (2).
