Watch party for the Austin Mexploitation martial arts series

Welcome to Now Streaming in Austin, highlighting locally made titles to watch while self-quarantining.
Normally, we’d tell you to put your phone away when watching one of our daily recommendations for an Austin-made show. But you better keep your tweeting fingers sharp today for Powerhouse Animation’s live Tweet of Seis Manos.
The Netflix show created by the Austin studio (currently also hard at work on Castlevania season 4 and the revamp of Masters of the Universe) mixes Mexican mystical culture and martial arts know-how (read more about that right here), and has become a streaming smash.
But for those of you that have never seen the show, and fans that want a little bit more background on how exactly it was created (including their dedication to real representation of martial arts disciplines, even with a fantastical environment), the team has announced that for the next four Saturdays, they’ll be live-tweeting two episodes. That kicks off at noon with the first two episodes, “Toppled” and “Grief,” and the series will run through June 6.
So fire up your TV, grab your tweeting device, follow the hashtag #SeisManos, and let series creators Brad Graeber and Álvaro Rodríguez, and the whole Powerhouse team take you on a deeper dive into the world of Seis Manos!
