Last Day, Last Chance to Own a Bit of Vulcan Video
Final day of "social distancing" garage sale at the film mecca
By Richard Whittaker, 12:06AM, Fri. Apr. 24, 2020

Vulcan Video is gone, and soon so will be your last chance to own a little bit of this physical media heaven.
The video rental store closed this month after 35 years providing tapes, discs, and priceless film knowledge to Austinites across multiple locations, as the economic impact of the coronavirus shutdown just proved too much for the store.
The owners posted this week that they're selling off everything that's not bolted down – and even some of what's bolted down, as the larger display units are also up for grabs.
The only thing not included in this? The actual movies, but there's still posters, shelving, even mementos like section signs, standees, and nicknacks. Here's the full announcement:
After 35 years, Vulcan Video has closed its doors and is selling a variety of items, including movie memorabilia, posters, collectibles, signage, display units (various sizes available) and 3x8 foot shelving ($40 each or 3/$100).We’re having a *socially distanced* garage sale- everything must go by Friday! Please bring a mask and gloves and be prepared to wait outside momentarily if necessary, as we will only be letting small groups in at a time for viewing and purchasing.
Come with a trailer and manpower if you plan on taking any of the heavier (seafoam green) display units (which bolt to the ground).
The sale will be at the store (4411 Russell Dr.) and the store will be enforcing strict social distancing. The doors open at 10am and everything must go by 2pm.
