Take It From a First-Timer...
The wisdom of experience at AFF's Conversations in Film
By Kimberley Jones, 2:59PM, Fri. Jul. 8, 2011

Turn a corner in this town and there's somebody with a camera, shooting a movie, usually on the quick and cheap. This Sunday, four first-time feature directors will gather to give advice about what you should know, and what they wish they'd known before rolling.
The talk is part of the Austin Film Festival's ongoing A Conversation in Film series. Participants include Mike Dolan (writer/director, Dance With the One), Will James Moore (writer/director, Cowboy Smoke), Storme Wood (writer/director Paradise Recovered), and Stephen Belyeu (writer/director Dig). Belyeu, who was recently named AFF's new film competition programmer, will also moderate the panel.
It all goes down this Sunday (7/10), 4-5:30pm, at the Harry Ransom Center on the UT campus. Tickets are $10 for general public; $8 for AFF members. You can buy tickets here.
