With all the SXSW hubbub, it's sometimes hard to remember this town is teeming with other festivals. Let's remedy that, shall we? The Austin Film Festival and aGLIFF and others have some news, but you'll have to make the jump...

The Austin Film Festival is currently running an Oscar week promotion for discounted Lone Star Badges and a chance to win a Weekend Badge if an AFF09 alum film wins Best Screenplay (the contenders: The Messenger, An Education, Precious, and Up in the Air). Go here for details on how to enter.

Speaking of the Oscars, aGLIFF is throwing its annual Oscars party on March 7 at the Driskill. (Psst: The Chron's Gay Place guru Kate Messer is a guest of honor.) Find out about tickets here.

Meanwhile, Cine las Americas has announced the first titles for its 13th annual festival, which kicks off April 21 – go here to check out the list. Cine is also currently running a free series at the MACC called “The Mexico of Emilio Fernández and Gabriel Figueroa” – tonight's screening of La Perla starts at 8pm.

And if back in January you were wondering what happened to the Austin Jewish Film Festival, wonder no more: It moved to April – April 10-16, to be exact. The lineup's already online. Titles include Lemon Tree, Adam Resurrected, and Mary and Max (which we absolutely adored – check out our interview with director Adam Elliot here).

Still wanting more? You could always consider a road trip to Marfa...
