It's Early Voting time here in Travis County, for what may turn out to be one of the most historic U.S. election seasons featuring some of the most historic moments in American and global civil rights and women's movements.

And guess whose vote is factoring into this mix? Hee hee hee. Teh Ghey. While Super Tuesday results have the pundits scurrying for angles, this election is most certainly one of the most exciting and hopeful for queerwads everywhere.

And who does Your Friendly Neighborhood Gayplace endorse in this horse race?

Well, first we'd like to pay respect to our betters in the Politics department and link you to Michael Ventura's excellent primary analysis and to The Austin Chronicle's official endorsement. That said (or read…), when colleague and Politics editor and mostly Obama-man Michael King heard Amy Smith and I suggest we'd be voting for Hillary, he quipped that were stamping our "women over 40 card." I told him that we were entitled to be just as sexist and racist as he is.

Yeah, Mr. King's and my playful digs aside, the pundits are truly wagging on that whole women-over-40 thing.

This media dogpile inspires managing editor Cindy Widner to muse: Why does that lump not acknowledge the irony that Obama is 46?! Not to mention hot. (I threw that in. He is. Phew.)

So yeah, in my heart, I'm a Hill Gal, but will giddily work for Obama, should it shake out that way. Kate Getty is undecided and says that she will probably do a "clutch vote." She adds, "I like Clinton, but I think she's a robot, and I like Obama, but he traded his gay vote for the churchy vote with that Donny McClurkin thing."

Andy Campbell is leaning toward Obama, but agrees that he, too will enthusiastically support Hillary if the nomination goes that way.

…because, really, how exciting would that be? Why aren't more people talking about this? Why aren't more people insisting upon it? Why aren't more people shouting it faster and louder and more frequently so that, like everything else in American politics and mass media, it will then become real and true???

Once Obama and Clinton get this delegate pissing match out of their systems, can't we all just get along and get behind the Dream Team and pretend 2001-2008 never happened?
