Aztex Win, 4-0
The Austin Aztex dominated their semifinal match with the Panama City Beach Pirates Friday night, scoring twice in each half to set up a Southern Conference Championship final tomorrow night against division rivals the Laredo Heat (7:30pm Saturday at House Park). The goals came from Sito Seoane, Khiry Shelton, Andres Cuero, and a Leone Cruz PK.

Heat Win First Semifinal, 2-0
The Laredo Heat have just won the first semifinal of the PDL Southern Conference Championships, beating the Ocala Stampede, 2-0. The Austin Aztex kick off against the Panama City Beach Pirates in the second semifinal at 7:30pm at House Park. The final is tomorrow night, Saturday, at 7:30pm.

Gary Clark Jr.: The Chosen One
Last Friday, about this hour, my wife and I sat in the outer office to Rolling Stone, waiting for our friend David Fricke to give us the “nickel tour.” The magazine’s now infamous “Bomber” issue lay on the table in the waiting area. I bagged it, then read the cover story on the flight home. It’s almost as good as the Gary Clark Jr. piece in there.

From the Vaults: 'Spider Baby'
The original title of this Jack Hill cult classic was Cannibal Orgy, or the Maddest Story Ever Told. Filmed over 12 days in 1963, the film wasn't released until 1968 when its ownership changed hands and the title was changed to Spider Baby. Since then, the film has been released in a few slightly different versions.
