In case you were thinking of hoarding cheaper Capital Metro multi-ride passes before the transit agency raises its fares on Jan. 18, your plan has been foiled. Cap Metro press release below:
Capital Metro fares will change on January 18, 2010.Beginning today, Capital Metro is limiting the number of passes sold to two of each type of pass, per person. The restriction applies to passes sold online, at the Capital Metro Transit Store, and at all participating retail outlets. The limit is effective today through January 17 for online sales. The last day to purchase passes at retail outlets and the Transit Store will be January 15.
To allow Capital Metro to provide all retail outlets with the new passes (and to pick up their “old” passes), no passes will be sold the weekend of January 16-17 at retail outlets and the Transit Store.
Retail outlet and regular online sales limits will resume on Monday, January 18, 2010 (at the new rates).
Passes purchased at the current rates will still be honored after the rates change, provided the pass is valid.
