Afternoon on the Convention Floor
Part three of the live-blogging experience

4:22pm: When asked for details, Watson would only reply, "I got my business done under three minutes." TMI, senator, TMI.
4:19pm: The ten minutes alotted for the vote counting was, as everyone expected, not enough. Chairman Watson's answer? Three minutes extra. This would allow the delegates to get their voting done, and give him time for a bathroom break. Is that enough to complete either task? "Yes, we can!" he said as he sprinted for the nearest facilities.
4:06pm: One thought on the chair race, and what the challengers said in their stump speeches. What does David Van Os (one time failed Texas Attorney General candidate, two-time failed Texas Supreme Court wannabe) know about winning elections, and how does current vice-chair, former vice-chair of the Texas Young Democrats, former District 12 committeewoman, former Vice-Chair for the League of Women Voters, and former vice-chair for the Fort Worth Transportation Authority Roy Laverne Brooks run as the change candidate?
3:03pm: Without challenge, Ruby Jensen is back as party secretary, and Dennis Speight is vice-chair of finance, while Amber Goodwin of the DNC Youth Council is now treasurer, replacing Victor Garza.
3:00pm: It's official. A three-way fight between Boyd Richie, Roy LaVerne Brooks and David van Os. There will be speeches, and a roll-call vote from delegates. This could get ugly. Check Lee Nichols' coverage of that on the blog, coming up right now.
2:52pm: A convention is nothing if not a bureaucratic experience. And with much of the business of the day almost settled, it seems like the day has become the reading of the lists. Currently, the reading of the nominations committee is on-going, with a slight hiccup from Senate District 3 over their presidential elector. But the suspicion is that the upcoming argument over the chair.
