Let Them Eat Cake

The real view from the press room at the Democratic convention

The Texas Democratic Party Convention, so far, feels a lot like the interactive portion of SXSW: there's lots of people in hastily screen-printed t-shirts milling around the convention center, thumbing through a catalog of events, and wondering why there seems to be no way to get from level four to level three without going to level one. Meanwhile, the press corps desperately prays to the Gods of Teh Internets that the wireless signal doesn't go down, and greedily eye the stack of free pastries in the corner of the press room.

There is, however, one big difference. The coffee is much better this time.
