KUT has confirmed that John Aielli is in the hospital again. The popular on-air personality suffered a heart attack on Jan. 4. "We are in touch with John and he is alert and in typical good spirits," posted the station just after 10am this morning.

That's good news to the myriad listeners of his Eklektikos program on the local NPR station. We've been taking these events to heart of late and Aielli and his show are dear favorites. He has sounded especially reinvigorated since returning to the air recently.

"We will share additional information as it becomes available," KUT's Erin Geissler assured us. "Jody Denberg will fill in for John on Eklektikos until John returns."

"The main thing is he’s okay, we’re in contact with him, and we hope he returns soon."

Us too.
