Slam It All On The Stage
Poetry comes alive at Austin Poetry Slam!
By Josette Chen, 3:00PM, Thu. Jan. 30, 2014

Austin Poetry Slam is a weekly event held every Tuesday at Spider House Ballroom. Poetry slams structure like sports tournaments. There are rules, rounds, titles, and money on the line. So grab some drinks at the bar and hear poets perform their spoken word pieces!
Just to give you an idea of what these slams are like, here are two videos: The first is Kevin Burke performing “Day Two” and the second is Lacey Roop performing “A 3rd Grade Lesson on Love.” Lacey Roop also happens to be the Austin representative in the Women of the World Poetry Slam coming up in March…in Austin!
