A Lone Gunman Beget By 'The Good Father'

Fans of Noah Hawley's TV work, which includes Bones and The Unusuals, know well his ability to nimbly move back and forth between suspense and emotional drama. He reads from his literary novel The Good Father tonight at BookPeople.

Hawley's fourth book follows a father trying to make sense of the news that his estranged son is a political assassin. In a starred review, Publishers Weekly wrote that "Hawley’s complicated protagonist is a fully fathomed and beautifully realized character whose emotional growth never slows a narrative that races toward a satisfying and touching conclusion.” In a recent Q&A with The New York Times, Hawley talked about writing the novel in the midst of the Tuscon massacre that critically injured Gabrielle Giffords and killed six others, as well as his research into political assassinations and outsiders who go off the grid; you can read it here.

Hawley will read and sign his new book at 7pm tonight (3/26) at BookPeople.
