Wii Internet Browser Now Free
Yesterday Nintendo made the wise decision to make their web browser free to download. Long story short, it's a free download, so download it. You never know when you might need to see Beyoncé's "Put a Ring on It" video on YouTube in the middle of a Wii Fit workout.

Be There, Love Them
We're big fans of the Austin Bat Cave, the West Lynn-based literacy nonprofit that offers tutoring and arts programs for kids. ABC's mission statement is to connect "a diverse population of young writers and learners with a vibrant community of adult volunteers" who are working professionals culled from the local arts and media scene.

Breaking: Sonic Youth cancels ACL
Sonic Youth has canceled its Oct. 5 taping for Austin City Limits. According to sources at ACL, guitarist Lee Renaldo broke his wrist. There’s no official word as to the noise-rockers' appearance at the 2009 Austin City Limits Music Festival, but a spokesperson for Matador Records says it doesn't look good. C3 Presents declined to comment.

Secret, Profane and Sugarcane
Elvis Costello’s affection for American music was in full bloom Tuesday at Bass Concert Hall. On record it’s been on display with an album of country covers, 1981’s Almost Blue, his watershed acoustic opus King of America from 1986 and latest Secret, Profane and Sugarcane, an amalgam of country styles performed with some of Nashville’s best musicians.
