We Have an Issue: What’s Next?

Trying to process what happened on Tuesday

We Have an Issue: What’s Next?

I share in the grief I imagine most of our readers are feeling now, in the wake of decisive Republican victories in the White House, the Senate, the House, in gubernatorial seats and statehouses across the country. I will never not be shocked and aghast that half the country is in thrall to a proven liar and cheat. Someone so unserious, so unfit to lead, so disinterested in advancing anyone’s interests but his own, so ugly in his rhetoric and so determined to turn us against each other.

But here we are.

I’m not here to tell anybody how to feel. How to process what’s just happened. You need a minute? Yeah, us too.

And then when we get done with that, we’ll get right back to doing the work. Standing by the most vulnerable in our communities. Pushing back at the government telling us what we can do with our bodies. Holding true to our progressive values and always, always pushing for progress even – especially – when things seem most bleak.

We’ll see you next week.
