Maggie Q. Thompson joined The Austin Chronicle as Assistant News Editor in February 2022 and took on the mantle of News Editor in May 2023. Maggie takes a special interest in criminal justice reporting, having cut her teeth as a crime and courts reporter in Spokane, Washington. She grew up in a college town on the Washington/Idaho border and now lives in North Austin with her husband and their two dachshunds and one cat.
