AUSTINITES GEAR UP TO COMPETE FOR THE COVETED SPELLING BEE TITLE AT
THE AUSTIN CHRONICLE/FADO ALL-ADULT SPELLING BEE
Join Local "Spellers" and The Austin Chronicle on October 25 for the 6th Annual Austin Chronicle-Fadó Spelling Bee and Help Raise Money for the Austin Public Library
Are you an unparalled orthographer with a penchant for bacchanalia? Then it's time to put your currency where your orifice is and enter the
Austin Chronicle/Fado All-Adult Spelling Bee! On Thursday, October 25, the Spelling Bee will take place at Fado Irish Pub and begin with all contestants taking a spelling test. Those spellers that place in the top 50 will be asked to take another test in hopes of making it to the final stage and compete in the official Spelling Bee! It costs only $3 to enter and ALL proceeds benefit the Austin Public Library. This year's proceeds will benefit young adult (YA) readers, so every dollar counts toward a new book for the library's YA collection. Dust off your dictionary and start practicing, as participants will receive great prizes, but more importantly raise money for a great cause. Former Spelling Bee winners and representatives from
The Austin Chronicle will be the Spelling Bee judges for the evening. Come on out and support Austin Public Library!
