Since forming on March 22 in response to the coronavirus pandemic, global foundation Masks for Docs – which now comprises 4,000-plus volunteers among 100 chapters across six continents – has delivered more than 20,000 masks and other personal protective equipment to healthcare organizations in need. For its part, the Austin division – based out of Native Hostel (807 E. 4th Street) – has dispatched more than 2,300 face shields (thanks to thirty-five local volunteer 3D printers) to fifty Central Texas healthcare facilities, including major hospitals, emergency clinics, hospices and elder care centers. For information on how to volunteer (directly at Native, or via 3D printing) or to request PPE for a local healthcare entity, visit masksfordocs.com, and to donate directly to the Austin chapter, go to masksfordocs.com/austin-donate/
