A listing of AISD's magnets and academies


Magnet Schools

Magnet schools offer college-preparatory curriculums and accept applications from students from across the district.

The Liberal Arts Academy at Johnston High (will move to LBJ next fall).

The Math and Science Academy at LBJ High.

Science and Technology and Liberal Arts at Kealing Junior High.

The Humanities/Government Magnet for International Studies at Fulmore Middle School.


Academies

Career Academies offer career preparation for particular industries, many of which do not require further studies after graduation. Many of them accept applications from across the district.

The Fine Arts Academy at McCallum High.

The Communications Academy at Travis High.

The International Studies Program at Anderson High.

The Cisco Network Academy (computer technology) at Anderson High.

The Career Academies (gives instruction and arranges internships that prepare students for jobs in local industries, like agriculture, computer science, construction, etc.) at Lanier High.

School-to-Career Pathways (prepares students for industry jobs in electronics, aircraft maintenance, hospitality, etc.) at Reagan High.
