Godhunter vs. Destroyer of Light

Endsville (Battleground / Heavy Friends)

Metallurgy

Metal propagates anew in Austin. Led by metal blogger Steve Colca, Destroyer of Light hones its psychotropic doom to a deadly hollow-point on this split LP. "Electric Shadows" and "Coffin Hunter" flow like molten gold down a dragon's throat, so a cover of Pentagram's "Forever My Queen" slots in perfectly. Tucson/Vancouver doom mongers Godhunter, meanwhile, offer four grunge-licked bludgeonings, plus an acoustic instrumental and a throat-ripping cover of Nirvana's "Something in the Way," retitled "The Emptiness That Is Left."
