Jo's Coffee Downtown

242 W. Second, Austin, 78701, 512/469-9003
Hours: Mon.-Fri., 7am-9pm; Sat.-Sun., 8am-9pm
Brunch is the news here: From healthy to heavy duty, every diner can find a favorite at the younger sister of the famed SoCo original. Counter service and pushed-back weekend hours are friendly to both early birds and hungover souls, though seating inside or on the patio can be limited during peak hours. Highlights are the expert hot/cold coffee bar, huge made-to-order pancakes, an egg white omelette, and breakfast tacos like the black bean, avocado, and pico de gallo.

Easy Tiger

“Slow down and stay awhile” is the motto of this upscale diner. While a split-level bakeshop and beer garden may seem an unlikely pairing, the interplay among handcrafted breads, house-cured meats, and a lovingly curated beer menu is surprisingly successful.
