Despite the crimson foam sofas, tile-mirrored walls, and throbbing dance music, the atmosphere at the venerable East Room feels more like a patio barbecue than a nightclub. Women sport both party dresses and flower prints, and the young bucks flash gilded smiles from under low-slung caps. Prominent Eastsiders such as Hollywood Henderson hang here, as do UT football players. Far more than a black cultcha' club. Open Friday and Saturday nights, 9pm until whenever. Beer and wine only. BYOB, and ask bartender Bruce for whatever you need with that.
