Dismantling Democracy

Dear Editor,
Government and democracy are being dismantled. Why?
Is it to stop waste, fraud, abuse? No. If that were the case, there is a way to do that. It was done by President [Bill] Clinton. (See: "How Clinton’s 'reinventing government' compares to DOGE’s approach: 'We cut fat and they cut muscle'" by Kaia Hubbard, CBS News, Feb. 20). But no, instead, since Jan. 20, agencies have had their inspector generals that find waste/abuse unlawfully fired.
Is it for the benefit of Trump’s allies - Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, and [Elon] Musk? Why else would America target American agencies and programs that help Americans, and that Americans like.
Senators and representatives’ jobs are to protect democracy and their constituents. Inform them of programs you like that are being gutted so billionaires and their corporations get tax cuts. Call and request they protect programs Americans need and like, and tax the billionaires if they want to reduce the federal debt. The number is: 202/224-3121.
