Open Letter to John & Ted

Dear Senators Cornyn and Cruz,
You were elected as members of Congress to serve Texans. You were not elected to cede power to Elon Musk to run the country. Nobody voted for Musk, but he seems to be pretty much in charge of everything now. He is using a wrecking ball to dismantle our institutions in the name of "efficiency" while himself benefiting from huge government contracts and subsidies. That is corruption, not efficiency.
If DOGE would like to find waste, they would hire auditors and CPAs, not programmers and hackers barely out of college. If DOGE would like to find waste, they would start with major contracts that benefit a small number of companies, and not programs such as Medicaid that benefit millions of Americans and fuel our economy. If DOGE would like to find waste, they would use transparency on the methods rather than create a department that wants to evade FOIA. If DOGE would like to find waste, they would not do mass firing of federal workers using form letters falsely stating they are not fit for the job without any evidence.
Federal workers are not numbers in a spreadsheet. They are people who do important jobs, such as tax auditors. They are your constituents (approximately 130,000 federal employees live in Texas). They are taxpayers, they are consumers, they are people who fuel our economy. They are the nuclear safety workers, who were fired without care, putting our nation at great risk.
I urge you to do your job. You have the power to stop this reckless dismantling of the U.S. Remember the oath of office you took. Remember who you are supposed to be serving. And if you are not up to the task, please resign.
