Farewell to an Austin Touchstone

RECEIVED Wed., Oct. 30, 2024

Sir or madam,
I just found out about Michael Corcoran's untimely death TODAY! ["Michael Corcoran Has Died and Austin’s Lost a Voice That Always Kept Things Interesting," Daily Music, July 2.]
I have been traveling and didn't keep up with news as much as I should have, but I am both shocked and saddened.
He was working so hard on his next book.
As a subscriber to his SubStack feed, I kept up with his new chapters and was eagerly awaiting its release. He even contacted me to get help on obtaining some photos of Willie's very first picnic from Ron McKeown, another friend who just died.
Like a bad cell phone signal, the touchstones to "old Austin" are rapidly dying off.
I am sorry for him and anyone who knew him.
Hope he is doing OK on the other side.
As ever,
Kirby F. Warnock
