To correct a significant error in Luke Ellis' "The Common Law" [Feb. 10] regarding off-leash dog areas, note that Auditorium Shores is NOT off-leash except in the fenced area on the western edge (§ 3-4-4(1)). The rest of AS is emphatically not off-leash. Users of the trail gave up a good [third] of AS for dog owners to have this restricted space. That bargain is now routinely violated by dozens of dog owners daily. In addition to fouling the grounds of AS, free-roaming dogs are a hazard on the trail. I don't blame the dogs. I blame the privileged attitude of some dog owners.
