Demanding Delusions

RECEIVED Wed., July 27, 2022

Dear Editor,
So apparently, Austin would prefer to live in delusions rather than confront hard facts; therefore, some reminders are in order. 1) Kirk Watson did nothing to support single-member districts, and was actively supported by people against such measures until BIPOCQ numbers were small enough. 2) "SMART" growth was code for "pro-developer," and actively expelled BIPOCQ residents. Even SOS did an apology PR stunt acknowledging its role in that in November 2017. 3) Kirk Watson has had his turn in leadership, and feels entitled to return, i.e. is a power hoarder.
Racism with a D after its name ISN'T anti-racism. Time for the people who lied in the 2020 protests to stop putting money into people with proven racist records. Anyone who supports and/or enables this candidate is proving that they demand more delusions. To be fair, that's weird, and we know that people LOVE to keep Austin weird.
