Open to the Classics

RECEIVED Thu., May 12, 2022

Dear Editor,
I see all kinds of promotional stories about the musical events in Austin, but I never hear about the marvelous classical performances we have in this city. They are a well-kept secret and it is a shame.
This weekend the TEMP (Texas Early Music Project) is performing two concerts. Do you have anything to say about that?
Austin wants to be the music capital of the world but ignores the very roots of all our music. There are some really great performances that never see the papers.
Unfortunately, these awesome artists do not have the heavy cash to buy publicity, and so they are only known to a select few.
Maybe the Chronicle should open their minds and columns to the classics.
