Dear Editor. This is a platonic love note to all the non-honking Austinites out there! When I moved to Austin over 10 years ago I found such relief from the quiet, non threatening roads and drivers on them! Austin has many well known unique charms, but I believe one of the great unspoken ones to be the fact that no one around here honks! I'm a day dreamer and a wanderer and can find myself waiting a few seconds too long before hitting my gas at a green light. Austin has always had my back. People here let an unexpected lane change here, or a quick stop there go without the slightest tap on their horn. I'm writing this letter to thank all you out there who believe in the rule of "letting it go" and to ask any new comers to take a breather and join us! Let's keep Austin Honk Free and together enjoy a pleasant, supportive commute! Breathe in.... breath out!
