Hurting Texans' Health

RECEIVED Tue., Aug. 10, 2021

Dear Gov. Abbott,
Do you care about the health of Texans? "Gov. Greg Abbott’s latest executive order, GA-38, says state and local governmental entities are barred from requiring vaccinations and face masks."
As a Texan, I feel that you should do more to protect the voiceless children and state employees from the surge in COVID-19. As a state worker and a parent, it seems that state employees and children under 12 are not a concern at all. Why are you banning masks?! How does it hurt anyone?
Other people's bad choices are affecting my freedom and health. Sadly, a lot of your supporters may become ill or worse because they refuse to wear masks. Please protect your fellow Texans with a mask mandate for all of Texans but especially your civil servants and young students. It would be shameful  and heartbreaking if young students and state employees die due to your policy of barring the requirement of masks.
Please do not make Texas a sad history lesson for future Americans that you, our governor, risked the health of Texans for political reasons. We deserve better than that as Texans, someone who truly cares about us.
