Regarding your column on placing dog poop in other people's trash bins [“Trash is Trash,” March 26] – I agree with your position for many reasons, but there is one that I think is particularly important. My wife and I travel quite a bit and are sometimes out of town for months. We had someone (or more than person) placing dog poop in our bin and when you've been away from home for a long time, especially during hot weather, it is especially unpleasant to deal with the smell of hot baked poop in the trash bin. I don't think people should casually make the assumption that trash is emptied every week. We had to start hiding the bin when we left town.
