Not Art, but Trash

RECEIVED Mon., Aug. 8, 2016

Dear Editor,
I happen to love Austin, so I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw how your recent cover page glorifies the graffiti on the train bridge at Lady Bird Lake [“Street Seen,” Aug. 5]. Encouraging people to vandalize public property is not cool. Each time I ride my bicycle at Lady Bird Lake, I try my hardest to look beyond the damage that these "artists" have done. The city spends thousands of our tax dollars to remove this trash, yet The Austin Chronicle encourages readers to do more of it. If Barbaro, Black, and Sam Anderson-Ramos are so fond of graffiti, then invite some of these "artists" to vandalize the cars and houses in which you and your parents live in. Shame on you Austin Chronicle!
