From a Driver

RECEIVED Mon., April 25, 2016

Dear Editor,
I am a rideshare driver. I collected petition signatures for Uber and Lyft because they threatened to abandon us if they had to do fingerprinting. I have come to believe that they won't leave a city full of tech start-ups who could easily replace them. I think fingerprinting is the only proper way to do a background check because it includes the cold case files. I called the FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C., to verify. I'm encouraging people to vote no on Prop. 1 because I have friends who use Uber and Lyft, and I care about them.
