It's Not the Size

RECEIVED Mon., Jan. 11, 2016

Dear Editor,
I work in a local print shop. Every day I have customers asking if we have the "no open carry" signs available. Stores like mine do not offer this signage outright (the company I work for, somehow, has decided to stay mum on the subject of open carry for fear of customer complaints). Thankfully, I had set up a few ready for print, so I can take care of them quickly. I saw yours in this week's paper as well [“Not in My House,” News, Jan. 8] and wanted to thank you for helping make these signs more available to business owners. I know it takes a little time to get the signs just right as per the law. Honestly, I think the strict rules governing the style, complete wording, and size of the signs is a gimmick intended to deter people from posting said signs.
If people intending to raise a stink over their "perfectly legal" openly carried weapons are likely to overlook a smaller, more business-friendly sign, they sure as hell aren't going to read an 18x24 sign.
