This is in reply to Ben Johnson's letter about the parking on South Congress [
Postmarks, July 5]. The backwards parking actually makes sense if you think about it. It really isn't that difficult to do once you get a bit used to it, and be very thankful it isn't parallel parking. But I believe that the whole reason for this type of parking is that it is far less dangerous to go forward out of a space than to back out of it. My guess would be that statistics would prove this out.
