Cronkite and Wind Power

RECEIVED Wed., April 25, 2012

Dear Editor,
I was once a big fan of Walter Cronkite, however – after hearing his 2002 CNN interview on wind power in Nantucket Sound – I am still a fan, but a much smaller one. He was hypocritical to promote environmental causes all those years and then object to wind farms barely visible in his backyard view of the ocean. If wind farms were a danger to his family’s health or livelihood, I could understand his objection. But his only concern was a few specks in his millionaire view of the ocean. WC could talk the talk, but apparently could not get out of his gas-powered golf cart to walk the walk.
