Fight the Power

RECEIVED Wed., April 13, 2011

Dear Editor,
I recently saw the film Why We Fight – a detailed look at Eisenhower's military-industrial complex. The three wars currently being engaged by the present U.S. rulers are no coincidence: A look at the history of the attempted nationalization of oil, followed by military coup and appointed dictator by the U.S. petroleum administration(s) is documented. Our society, our planet, will continue to be dismembered and society corrupted: The present parasitic system of capitalism, in the name of democracy as advertised by the corporate "captains of industry,” sucks the life from our souls, greedily, like bloodthirsty leaches. All of the natural world we love and take for granted on this planet – the veritable Garden of Eden – of which we know so little about can be rescued from these vultures in savior's clothing. People, together, always have the power.
Invest in your knowledge. Watch the films: The Corporation, Who Killed the Electric Car?, Sir! No Sir!, The Tillman Story, and Inside Job. Then for positive inspiration – your involvement in this movement is so important – watch Turk and Christy Pipkin's Nobelity, as well as Avatar, Get Low, and The Blue Planet.
Many organizations want your time and energy.
People hold those in power accountable under the law – or laws that need to be reinstated like the Glass-Steagall Act – and we must start with a new election system that counts all votes, openly, as they were cast vs. as you are told.
A revolution is a change in business as usual.
The "business" of government is to serve people and the planet that we are blessed with being born on, not material profit for the few who live in fear while terrorizing us wage-slaves. Go meet your neighbors and embrace the community. Organize. Fight!
