Citizen-Owned Campaigns May Be Only Remedy

RECEIVED Fri., April 8, 2011

Dear Editor,
Regarding your column on the legislative attacks on unions [“Page Two,” April 8], citizen-owned campaigns may be the only remedy to the hijacking of public policy by either labor or capital. The Fair Elections Now Act has been introduced into Congress on April 6 to address this. Unfortunately, virtually no prosperous citizens are willing to provide the serious funding for this movement to wrestle public policy back from the legislators who are in effect paid agents of narrow special interests.
