Arizonia Redneck Nativists Have Won

    It seems the Arizona redneck nativists have won the day in their attempt to remake Arizona into a lily-white bastion of bigotry with the passage of their new “border protection(?) bill.” I am going to suggest a means for them to make it simpler in the future as they begin their racially profiled arrests. They should tattoo numbers on the arms of the arrestees, so if they sneak back into Arizona and get caught again, they can pronounce stiffer sentences. For those second-time losers, they could extract any of their gold teeth, confiscate their glasses, shoes, and any valuables to pay part of their fine. For some reason, I have this nagging thought from my fading memory, that I heard of some others doing something similar. Was it South Africa’s apartheiders, Chilean dictator Pinochet, the Darfur Janjaweeders …? Oh no! Now I remember, it was those nasty Nazi gestapo folks.
