Without a Cult Hit, There's Little Chance of Success

RECEIVED Tue., Dec. 1, 2009

Dear Editor,
Re: The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day [Film Listings, Nov. 27]: One theatre in Austin? Playing only three times a day? I thought Austin was a place where you could make it. I don't see Harvey Weinstein walking around this town. I guess he's one of the guys still calling the shots, even in Austin. Troy Duffy had some serious adjusting to do, but don't you think the guy can get a fair next shot at the business? Dude, talk about a guy who's blocked from getting the filmmaker's dream. I thought it was tough to break into this city, but this is the guy who created The Boondock Saints. If Troy Duffy can't do well here, how good of a chance do us without a cult hit have? I say little to none.
